Barcelona Itinerary 4-Days
Airbnb Recommendation: The Moods Catedral in Barcelona was by far our favorite Airbnb of our entire Europe trip. It’s akin to an elevated dorm room/hostel. There’s friendly, helpful front desk service 24/7. The rooms are clean and serviced everyday. There’s a communal dining and kitchenette area. Guests were supplied with snacks, water, and coffee! Also, it’s conveniently located in the Gothic Quarter, and there’s a grocery store across the street.
Day 1
Activity:
Explore Gothic Quarter
Explore La Vila de Gràcia
Dinner: Lluritu 2 (fantastic casual dining for local seafood, online res available)
Lluritu has two restaurants: Lluritu and Lluritu 2. Lluritu 2 has two floors, so it can accommodate more diners. We ended up going to Lluritu 2, because they had a same day reservation available. Both spots are great! We loved Lluritu so much, we ended up going 3x on this trip! You pretty much can’t go wrong with what you order.
Day 2
Breakfast: Xurreria Laietana (amazing churros y porras, fun to try it with their hot chocolate)
Lunch: La Paradeta
It was so much fun eating here. Fresh seafood is displayed. You choose what seafood you want as well as choose a fried or grilled preparation. We also ordered their seafood soup that we enjoyed.
Dinner: Colom Restaurant (known for paella, walk-in only)
We ordered sangria, paella, grilled octopus, and a salad. The food was fine, but we felt like it was more touristy than authentic. Perhaps, go and dine somewhere else if the wait is long.
Day 3
Activity:
Mercado de la Boqueria (famous food market in Barcelona with stalls selling beverages, fruit, confectionery, seafood, and meat)
Lunch: El Quim de la Boqueria (known for fried eggs w/ squid)
We enjoyed sitting at the bar and eating in the middle of the market. Staff was super friendly!
Activity:
Shopping along Passeig de Gràcia
Dinner: Can Maño (traditional seafood, small plates, walk-in only)
In order to avoid waiting in line, we arrived right when they opened. The food here was amazing! Definitely recommend coming here.
What we ordered and loved: sardines, fried anchovies, mussels and prawns
Day 4
Activity:
El Park Güell (admissions ticket w/ audio guide via Get Your Guide)
Self-Guided Gaudí Architecture Tour
Casa Vicens, Casa Mila, Casa Battlo, Casa Calvet
Basilica de la Sagrada Familia (admissions ticket w/ audio guide via Get Your Guide)
Lunch: Freestyle
There was a street festival near the basilica. We walked around and tried out the empanadas, paella, and chorizo.
Dinner: Lluritu
We pretty much ordered everything else on the menu!
I read Lluritu had amazing paella, but it wasn’t available when we were there. We asked our waiter if they had paella and he told us to come back the next afternoon . So we went to Lluritu for lunch before we bade Barcelona farewell the next day. Luckily, the waiter and chef recognized us from dining the previous night, and they made paella for us even though it wasn’t on the menu. My goodness - it was the best paella we’ve ever had. Very grateful and blessed.
