To All the Cleansers I’ve Loved Before

Oil Cleanser

  1. The Face Shop Bright Light Cleansing Oil

  2. Banila Co Clean It Zero Cleansing Balm Original

  3. Neogen Dermalogy Calming Cica Tree Micellar Cleansing Oil

These are solid cleansing oil products. I’m always impressed with how moisturized my skin feels after using The Face Shop oil. IMO, they’re great for dry-oily skin types, but not for those who are acne prone. These products won’t cause any breakouts; they just don’t have any ingredients to help target acne skin concerns.

  4. Hanskin Pore Cleansing Oil [PHA]

  5. Hanskin Pore Cleansing Balm [PHA]

I like to use the Hanskin cleansing oil and balm [PHA] since I’m still a bit acne prone and have sensitive skin. PHAs (Polyhydroxy Acids) are chemical exfoliants and second generation AHAs. Since PHAs have a larger molecular structure than AHAs and BHAs, they do not penetrate into deeper layers. Thus, PHAs help exfoliate dead skin cells on the surface level without being too irritating to the skin. PHAs also combat glycation, which is when digested sugar attaches to collagen and weakens collagen and elastic levels. Common PHAs: gluconolactone, galactose, and lactobionic acid.

To All the Toners I’ve Loved Before

  1. Aloe BHA Skin Toner

  2. Acwell Licorice pH Balancing Cleansing Toner

  3. Some By Mi AHA-BHA-PHA 30 Days Miracle Toner - great for acne prone skin

  4. Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toning Solution - caution: strong stuff. Start out using 1x/week and see how skin tolerates it.

  5. Son & Park Beauty Water - cult favorite

To All the Essences I’ve Loved Before

  1. Hanskin Hyaluron Skin Essence

  2. Missha Time Revolution The First Essence 5x

  3. Missha Time Revolution Artemisia Treatment Essence

  4. Plant Base Pore N Tightening Essence

Seems to be discontinued, which is sad because I swear it helped minimize pores!

To All the Serums I’ve Loved Before

  1. Klairs Rich Moist Soothing Serum

You know it’s good when hubby asks you, what’s that stuff in the blue bottle we used on our trip? It made my skin feel really soft.

  2. Osmosis Skincare MD Rescue Epidermal Repair Serum

This stuff be pricey and smells funasty. Not for the faint of heart. However, I do love this product and feel like there’s a time and place for when it might be suitable in your skin care routine.

To All the Moisturizers I’ve Loved Before

  1. Etude House Soon Jung 10 Free Moist Emulsion - lightweight

  2. Hanskin Real Complexion Hyaluron Moisture Cream - medium

  3. Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion - heavy

  4. Cetaphil Moisturizing Cream - heavy

I’ve been using this cream since high school because it was recommended by my dermatologist when I had cystic acne. It’s noncomedogenic and hypoallergenic. Although I no longer use it for my face, I still use this cream all year round for my body.

You want to select sunscreens that are at least PA+++, which translates to high UVA protection.
